Catalog Description:
Seth Thomas City Series clock called, "St. Paul", ca 1886. This is one of the larger clocks in the series at 21 inches high. The case is polished walnut veneer. They used a special type of veneer on the door facing and the inset at top. Case now with a heavy bright finish, should be rubbed out or redone. The basic case is good; some of the attached things are not so good. The pendulum, although looking very nice and bright, is new and the bell is not correct. The signed and correct 8 day movement is running nicely, the 2 piece paper dial is signed and very old. Bubba has been tinkering with the dial and brass. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that the dial and rings may have been adopted from another source. This model in nice condition will bring 800 dollars to 1000 dollars, this one needs some TLC, but you could definitely increase its value. Ly-Seth Thomas #226.
