Antique Seth Thomas "Regulator No. 2" Model Clock

Seth Thomas Regulator No. 2

Catalog Description:

Seth Thomas "Regulator No. 2", early model, ca 1878. This tablet was only used by Seth Thomas from 1878 to 1880, and seconds bit started in 1879, so that only leaves 1878 as the date this clock was made. For lack of other information I often use the date by the clock in the catalogs, but more times than not the catalog date is not the date when a clock was made, it is only the date it was pictured in the company's trade booklet. These early Seth regulators were 34 inches high, walnut veneer cases, 8 day time only movement, large flat weight descending behind a sliding partition, full label on the partition. The clock runs real well, appears to be all original, a few chips of veneer missing on the rounded bezel, some gold paint loss but majority still intact. Has been rebacked to hold the remaining gold. Original paint on the old zinc dial is very good. Overall a near perfect example of a very early regulator. Ly-Seth Thomas No. 364.
