Catalog Description:
Seth Thomas and Sons, statue clock, "Inspiration", ca 1853- 1875. Made in the USA the movements were copied from the French, the castings were done in New York and covered with gilt. Bruce Baziluk restored this clock in a Syrian Bronze color and the base to the original black. One-piece porcelain dial and the French sash and beveled glass, are perfect, as is the entire clock. The case is 21 inches high, 21 inches wide. This is a very hard to find model and one of four or five large statue clocks that the collectors always ask about. Ly-Seth Thomas No. 894.
